solv Sponsors Charity Game

On the 26th of February, a charity football game was held at Gibson Park between Orangefield Crocks and Glentoran Legends in memory of the late Gary Wardlow. The game was sponsored by solv and other local businesses, and we jumped at the opportunity to support the cause as Gary was a close friend of Stephen Kane, MD of solv.

The event started with a minute of silence to honor the memory of Gary Wardlow, who passed away suddenly last year.

The stars aligned when relatives of Gary were brought on during the second half of the match. Ross Wardlow, nephew of Gary Wardlow hit the back of the net with the third goal just after half time. Later on in the game Jaxon, Gary’s son, was brought on and clinched the winning goal, resulting in a final score of 4-3 to the Glentoran Legends.

The match was covered retrospectively by Orangefield OBFC on Facebook, and the large crowd and players retired to the Cregagh Sports Club post match for beer, pizza, and two cup finals.

Solv would like to express their gratitude to the Glentoran Legends and send best wishes to the Wardlow family. The charity football game not only raised funds for a worthy cause but also celebrated the memory of a beloved friend and family member.
