Introduction:
MAD Colour (formerly Minprint), a leading commercial printing company established in 1977, has become synonymous with top-quality print services. Based in the Castlereagh area, the family business has expanded to include a design agency, events, interiors, vehicle graphics, bespoke joinery, signage, and digital solutions. With over 50 experienced staff, MAD Colour recently moved to new, larger premises, coincidentally previously owned by another solv customer, Crane Stockham Ltd.
Defining the Challenge:
MAD Colour faced a unique obstacle during the transition to their new premises. The building needed to be split between another company occupying the building and MAD. The centralised boiler plant supplying heating to both sections posed a significant complication.
Smart Service Solutions:
solv presented MAD Colour with a two solutions: a gas option or maintaining the existing oil setup coupled with biomass. Opting for the latter, MAD Colour employed solv to focus their efforts on the meticulous installation of the commercial oil heating system.
Making It Happen:
Installation had to be phased due to the customer’s recent move. The final changeover occurred during the holiday period to minimise downtime. solv successfully managed the transition, ensuring the seamless integration of the new heating solution. solv maintained constant communication with MAD Colour, addressing any concerns and making adjustments as needed. Ongoing interaction was crucial, especially as additional services were still being delivered by solv to the adjacent property.
Measuring Success:
MAD Colour now benefits from efficient heating solutions. The transition involved the use of condensing oil boilers, incorporating the latest smart technology to reduce running costs. The project also addressed offshoots, such as water mains and fire hydrants, demonstrating solv’s comprehensive facilities management capabilities.
