Staff Spotlight – Emma Bell, Accounts Coordinator

Hi Emma, we’re excited to hear about your time at solv!

1.. Can you describe your role at solv and what a typical day looks like for you?

I deal with anything to do with accounts. This can be from invoicing jobs the engineers attend, to reconciling statements, to dealing with customer queries, processing supplier invoices, processing sub-contractor invoices, matching purchase invoices to purchase orders and anything else that is needed.

2. What’s your favourite part about working here and why?

solv is like my 2nd family; everyone just gets on so well and we get good craic too!

3. How do you think your work contributes to the overall success of solv?

Without me invoicing high amounts of jobs etc it wouldn’t keep the cashflow going.

4. What has been the most challenging project you’ve worked on, and how did you overcome it?

To be honest I don’t have any challenging projects that I have worked on. Although I do work to tight deadlines every month to get the invoicing done before the month closes which can be quite challenging.

5. How do you stay motivated and focused in your role?

When you enjoy coming to your workplace it definitely helps keep you motivated. Also, there are never two days the same.

6. What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Going to the gym, walking, spending time with my daughter and some retail therapy.

7. Who or what inspires you in your career and personal life?

My dad is my inspiration, he has always been a hard worker and has taught me that you work hard for what you want to achieve and accomplish in life

8. What’s one skill you’d like to develop or a goal you’re currently working towards, even in your personal life?

I would like to start running, I think it may be something that I will look in to taking up.

9. If you could have dinner with anyone, past or present, who would it be and why?

Donald Trump, could just imagine how funny the conversations would be!

10. Tea or coffee?

Coffee.

11. Early bird or night owl?

Early bird.

12. Favourite movie or TV series?

Sons of Anarchy.

13. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
